We recently announced that The Cambridge Mortgage Group, an independent mortgage lender with offices in Hingham and Newburyport, became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bank under the name, Cambridge Mortgage Group LLC. This new subsidiary continues to operate as a mortgage loan origination company, servicing both the South Shore and North Shore community.
The Cambridge Mortgage Group was founded in 1996 by mortgage industry veterans John Battaglia and Mary Marengi. The Hingham office will continue to operate under the direction of CMG President John Battaglia, who has been in the mortgage industry for over 25 years. John is former Chairman of the Board of the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association. He currently serves as co-chair of the MMBA’s Legislative Committee and is a member of the Communications, Ethics and Nominating committees. Mary Marengi, Senior Vice President of CMG, will continue to operate the Newburyport office. Mary, who has also been in the mortgage industry for over 25 years, enjoys working with first time homebuyers and helping them realize their dream of homeownership.
All South Shore Savings Bank and Cambridge Mortgage Group Loan Officers are now employees of the new subsidiary and are continuing to work closely with the communities they have come to know. They are also still available to meet with customers in any of the bank’s 14 local branches or another location convenient for the customer.
